Life in Mumbai runs with a lightning speed. It is extremely fast paced with little time to breathe and this sweltering summer heat only adds to the existing exhaustion. The summer heat coupled with high humidity  really makes on cringe, but why let this summer get the better of you, instead make the most of it by enjoying with your friends or family  at these awesome places near or in Mumbai, so that when you  get back to the grind, you are fresh and energized.

1. Water Kingdom and Essel World

Water Kingdom and Essel World would be the perfect getaway from the warm climate. Water Kingdom, considered as Asia’s  largest water park, offers different rides for different age groups which are classified into adult, the kids, and family rides. It is a complete entertainment package for people of all age groups.

‘Top Spin’, ‘What a Coaster’ and ‘Wetlantic’ are a few rides which would provide adventure and thrill to the tourists. You can also enjoy the rain dance to beat this sweltering heat! This truly remarkable place offers unlimited fun and also provides a lot of offers to students, adults and families. The park is open 365 days and has been built as per the international standards.

2. Bhandardara

Bhandardara is located in Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra on the coasts of Western Ghats. Bhandardara is a blend of natural beauty, waterfalls, greenery, tranquility, mountains and pristine ambience. The place is a favourite among trekkers who go for a trek to the highest peak in Maharashtra, Mount Kalsubai (1646m). Smaller trekking routes are also available.

The Umbrella Falls are also very popular but can be only seen during Monsoons between July and October which is also a famous tourist attraction. A lot of other attractions are also present such at the Arthur Lake, Wilson dam, Amriteshwar Temple, Ratangad and many more.

3. Lonavala and Khandala

Lonavala along with Khandala are one of the most visited tourist spots near Mumbai. Located between Mumbai and Pune, they are famous for its natural beauty and climate. Mumbaikars are often attracted to its natural scenic points and historic caves i.e. Tiger’s Leap, Duke’s Nose, Bhaja Caves, etc.
Tiger’s Leap: with its jaw dropping wondrous view of a tiger leaping into the valley, it is one of the most visited place in lonavala. Don’t forget to savour some sweet corn while you’re here.
Bhaja Caves: The rock cut caves depict a perfect example of Buddhist architecture along with a spectacular waterfall in which you are free to take a dip and rejuvenated in this Summer heat.
Duke’s Nose: Also known as the ‘snake’s hood’, it is an amazing picnic spot. People also visit it for trekking and is a famous spot for rock climbing.

Other tourist attractions around the area include famous forts and lakes like Lohagad Fort, Kodegad Fort, Visapur Fort, Tungarli Lake and the Lonavala Lake. These places can be visited at any time of the year as it offers something new all year round.



4. Adlabs Aquamagica and Snow Park

Also known as India’s ‘Disney Land’, Aquamagica is considered as one of the best water parks in India. This park is situated on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on 300 acres of land. You can start from any ride but the enjoyment and adventure will always be the best. You have rides such as the Zip Zap Zoom, Loopy Woopy, Swirl Whirl and a lot of others which you won’t be able to resist. The Water Park is based on the Mykonos Theme.

India’s largest snow park is an indoor snow-based theme park. The concept of real snowfall, snow basketball, snow hiking make the park even more entertaining for the tourists. Apart from it, the snow is also prepared from purified water making it safe to play with.

5. Stay Home and Chill!

Well, when nothing else works out and going out seems like an uphill task, don’t fret and simply sit at home! Turn up the air-conditioner, sip on some home-made lemonade and gorge on a sundae or alphonso mangoes. Play some board games, catch some movies and stay at home away from the humidity and heat outside. No sun tan, only fun and frolic. If you ask us, we’d say that this one is our personal favourite!
