Sushant Singh Rajput began his journey in the entertainment industry with television show Pavitra Rishta and it was in 2013 that he made his Bollywood debut with Kai Po Che (2013). Right from playing the guy next door in his first movie, a fictional hero in Detective Byomkesh Bakshi (2015) or a living legend in M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story (2016), he left behind a body of work which he himself should have been proud of.

1. Chanda Mama Door Ka
Known to be the first space adventure film from India. Directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and produced by Viki Rajani, it also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R. Madhavan in important roles. Sushant had been undergoing rigorous training for the role of an astronaut and will also be getting trained at NASA’s Space & Rocket Center to get into the character.

2. Dil Bechara
The movie that was previously titled ‘Kizie Aur Manny’ will be Sushant Singh Rajput’s last movie to release on screen. The film is the Hindi adaptation of ‘The Fault In Our Stars’. The film had come to a stop after Mukesh Chhabra, the director was accused under #MeToo, however, came back on board and completed the movie with the case. Slated to hit theatres on 29th November 2019, Dil Bechara has now been postponed to release.

3. Rifleman
This movie was based on the life of Jaswant Singh Rathore, who fought the battle of Nuranang, the war between India and China in 1962. Sushant had announced this next project on his Instagram on Army day as he was all set to play a soldier in the film.
The project was however drawn into a controversy as the markers of recently released ’72 Hours: Martyr Who Never Died’ claimed that they had the original rights of making a film on his life.

4. Emergency
Filmmaker Anand Gandhi has said that Irrfan Khan would have appeared in his upcoming film Emergency, about a pandemic. After his demise, Sushant was roped in for the role.

5. Paani
Shekhar Kapoor was supposed to cast Sushant Singh Rajput for his film Paani. Much work had been done about the film. Sushant’s name was also being considered as final. But in the end, due to some reasons, Yash Raj Films stopped this project and this film could not be released on the big screen.
