ZEE5 is all set to build a superapp within the app’s ecosystem and one step in that direction is by launching HiPi, a co-incidental alternative to TikTok.
To add to the excitement of this launch, is the HiPi Premier League (HPL), a UGC short video sharing competition which has 8 teams participating to win some top honors! With IPL already creating a buzz among cricket lovers, the HPL is bound to up the entertainment factor further by giving content creators a platform and reason to celebrate cricket.
Here are 5 Things You Need To Know About ZEE5’s HiPi Premier League (HPL):-
1. What is HiPi?
ZEE5’s new platform HiPi is a place where users can create and publish video content in their own style. The platform allows users to create short videos of up to 90 seconds and add music tracks, filters and other visual effects. There are lots of funky filters and special effects that users can add to their videos and then publish them on the platform. One can also co-create videos with famous comedians and celebrities.
2. What is HiPi Premier League (HPL)?
For all the cricket lovers missing the sport during the pandemic, ZEE5’s newest platform HiPi Premier League enables fans to participate in a virtual sporting event. There are 8 teams in this league where each team captain is a celebrity or an influencer, with names such as Sugandha Mishra, Sanket Bhosle, Gaurav Gera, and Sumier Pasricha. The 8teams are Hyderabad Hippers, Mumbai Mastis, Delhi Dhoomers, Rajasthan Rockstars, Punjab Putters, Chennai Swaggers, Bangalore Badshahs, and Kolkata Khiladis, which have been formed keeping the actual IPL tournament teams and regions in mind. Users are encouraged to participate in these teams by creating & uploading videos, engaging with content on the platform, etc. which helps earn points.

Being from Mumbai, we’ve been supporting Mumbai Mastis since day 1 and under the captaincy of Dr. Sanket Bhosale we’ve been having a great time creating videos and earning runs! It’s always good having an inspiring captain like Dr. Bhosale who is like Captain Cool – always motivating and calm under pressure.
3. Rewards & Prizes
There are various award categories for creators such as – video with maximum likes in the day, video with maximum likes in the week, seasons leading content creator. Prizes include HiPiZen of the day, HiPiZen of the week and various other grand prizes worth 10 lakh rupees.
4. Free for all ZEE5 Users
Since HiPi is a part of the ZEE5 app, participating in the HiPi Premier League will be completely free for all those who have an active ZEE5 subscription. While HiPi is accessible only for Android users, they are soon to launch it on iOS as well.
5. Steps to Participate in the HPL
Here are the steps to follow to participate in HPL:
Step 1: Download the ZEE5 app and take up a monthly (Rs. 99) or yearly (Rs. 999) subscription
Step 2: Head over to the HiPi tab within the app
Step 3: Pick your favourite team and upload as many videos as you can with the hashtag #HiPiPremierLeague.

Step 4: Follow your team captain and team cheerleader which you will in the Discover section of HiPi
Step 5: Participate in the daily challenges
Each like that you get on your video earns you 1 run. The team with the most runs wins!
