1. Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival (Kasauli, Himachal at Baikunth Resort)

About: Founded by the Genesis Foundation in 2012, they believe that music can bring about a positive change, hence all proceeds from the concert go towards supporting critically ill under-privileged and orphan children.

Dates: 25th – 27th March, 2016 (Easter weekend)

2. Hornbill Festival (Kisama, Nagaland)

About: Named after the globally respected Hornbill bird, this fest is a celebration of local Naga tribes who display their crafts, sports, games and ceremonies which eventually culminates into an International Rock contest. Organised by the Government of Nagaland, this is arguably the longest music event in the country.

Dates: 1st – 10th December, 2016

3. Ragasthan a.k.a. India’s Craziest Music Festival (Jaisalmer, Rajasthan)

About: With its 2015 edition being called off, 2016 only promises to be bigger and better! Set on the sprawling sands of the Thar Desert, Ragasthan offers more than just a musical journey, with the opportunity to camp under the stars, ride on camelbacks or learn the local cultures. This is one of our favourites.

4. NH7 Weekender a.k.a. The Happiest Music Festival (Multiple Cities)

About: With its modest beginning in Pune, the NH7 Weekender has slowly spread its footprint to Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and now Shillong. Attracting artists like A.R. Rahman, Mogwai, L. Subramaniam to Indie bands like The Raghu Dixit Project, Maati Banni, to name a few, this festival keeps getting bigger. Don’t miss the cool alcohol buckets to make you happier!

5. Escape Festival (Nubra Valley, Jammu & Kashmir)

About: One of the first festivals in India to allow on-site camping, you couldn’t have wished for a better venue. The Escape Festival originated in Naukuchiataal in 2009 but has now moved base to The Desert Himalaya Resort in Nubra Valley.
